Wideband source location in two-dimensional array processing
Abstract
A method suitable for two-dimensional wideband source location is presented. The method has high resolution and is established on the basis of autoregressive spectral estimation. The algorithm relies on a two-dimensional frequency dependent vector model, which can be decomposed into two one-dimensional structures. The method is reviewed for the case of a linear array, and parameter estimators are determined for a two-dimensional array. The selection of basis functions and the procedures used for smoothing are then described, and some simulation results are included. The analysis shows that sine functions, as a set of basis functions, can generate less perturbation, simplify the frequency combination, and decrease the complexity of computation. In comparison with signal subspace methods, the proposed algorithm can work in the case of only one snapshot.
