Preparing for the future
Abstract
The ESA programs described consist of: (1) the Basic Technological Research Programme, which takes care of all the common domains of technology applicable to medium and far-term missions, and advances technological research to the point of demonstrated feasibility; (2) Harmonisation, which is for both economic and resource reasons; (3) the In-Orbit Technology Demonstration Programme, which is for designing and testing technological performance of future spacecraft equipment and examining space environmental effects; (4) the General Support Technology Programme, which is to enhance the cost effectiveness of various technological development; and (5) Technology Transfer Programme.
