Short-Wavelength Radiation Sources
Abstract
The present conference on the development status of FEL devices and other laboratory SW radiation sources discusses the Los Alamos photoinjector-driven FEL, applications of synchroscan and dual-sweep streak camera techniques to FELs, laser photocathodes for high-current electrons, spontaneous emission from FELs, a compact FIR FEL, synchrotron-radiation lasers, and an XUV-IR FEL for industrial applications. Also discussed are the ion-ripple laser, high-power X-ray generation using transition radiation, a novel approach to the 'gas puff' Z-pinch X-ray source, the observation of living cells with laser-plasma X-ray source microscopy, the dynamics of a low-energy X-pinch source, and a soft X-ray source based on high temperature capillary arc discharge.
