Laser link performance improvements with wideband microwave impedance matching
Abstract
This paper reports the experimental results of broadband impedance matching at microwave frequencies to a semiconductor laser diode. Matching has been achieved from 3 to 9.5 GHz, which is more than one octave, with an associated 5 dB improvement in both throughput loss and noise figure for the optical link.
