Calculation of incompressible laminar flows on a nonstaggered, nonorthogonal grid
Abstract
A revised version of the semi-implicit method for pressure-linked equations (SIMPLE) algorithm is presented for flow calculations using nonstaggered, nonorthogonal grids. This version is shown to yield a simple yet effective scheme to avoid pressure-velocity decoupling and to ensure mass conservation. The modified SIMPLE algorithm was applied to various laminar flow problems to assess its convergence properties and accuracy.
