Calculation of the two-dimensional jet outflow of gases with different adiabatic indices
Abstract
The example of the classical problem of two-dimensional jet outflow from a channel of finite width is used to demonstrate a method for calculating the global characteristics on the basis of exact formulas of the theory of gas jets. The outflow of gases with different adiabatic indices is considered. As a result of the calculation, jet compression coefficients and relative opening widths are obtained which can be used to test the accuracy of computational hydromechanics methods that are being developed.
