Time variability of the central residual intensities of solar Fraunhofer lines.
Abstract
For moderately strong Fraunhofer lines the observed scattering of central residual intensities decreases with an increase of excitation potentials; for weak lines such a dependence is absent. It is shown that up to some level below the surface the solar photosphere may be considered to be unstationary. Below that level the undisturbed solar photosphere may be viewed as a stationary formation.
