On the influence of longitudinal electric fields on plasma instabilities in solar magnetic traps.
Abstract
A possible mechanism of influence of longitudinal electric fields on the stability of Langmuir and ion-sound oscillations in post-flare loops is considered. It is shown that the presence of electric fields can lead to the growth of plasma instability. Estimations of increments and times of growth of instabilities in the linear stage, as well as intervals of changing of critical values of the electric fields as functions of the wavelength of perturbation have been obtained. Such fields, observed in post-flare loops, have influence on the formation of Langmuir and ion-sound turbulence in the loops.
