The active molecule of natural masers in its own stochastic field
Abstract
Some fundamental phenomena essential for the evolution of maser emission are briefly reviewed. The active molecule of the astrophysical maser is treated as the two-level system, while the amplified own emission of the natural maser is treated as a stochastic electromagnetic field. The intensity of the electric field is calculated for three maser sources assuming the isotropic nature of maser radiation. It is shown that the propagation of the noise field is accompanied not only by an increase in its intensity but also by changes in the relaxation parameters of the two-level medium; when a certain intensity is reached, the homogeneous width (the value of the tranverse relaxation constant) may assume the Doppler value.
