Effect of ion irradiation on the current noise of YBaCuO microbolometers
Abstract
A study was made of the effect of bombardment by 2-MeV O-16 ions and 230-MeV Kr-84 ion on the low-frequency current noise of YBaCuO microbolometers. The noise was measured in the temperature range 79-300 K at frequencies of 10-5 x 10 exp 4 Hz. It is found that radiation-induced structural changes in the film significantly affect the level of current noise in both normal and superconducting states. It is also found that radiation leads to noise anomalies in the normal state, which are attributed not only to the disturbance of the structure but also to the generation of radiation-induced elastic stresses in the film-substrate system.
