Determination of the dispersion properties of a periodic medium from local analysis of heat transfer
Abstract
The energy and momentum equations are solved at a local scale in a periodic medium consisting of an array of cylindrical solid fibers arranged in an in-line or staggered lattice. Based on the computation of the mean heat transfer the effective dispersive longitudinal and transversel properties of the equivalent medium are determined for different flow conditions.
