Contribution a l'etude des spectres composites. V. HD 83270-1, etoile Am,systeme triple spectroscopique.
Abstract
Results of observations of HD 83270 - 1, listed as a star with composite spectra by Hynek (1938), are presented, and the radial velocity variations are interpreted in terms of a spectroscopic triple system. The orbital elements for the short- and long-period systems are presented. The components of the close system are found to have a separation near 20 solar radii and the third body gravitates around this system at a distance of about 500 solar radii. The primary star of the triple system is an Am star; the classification A2, F3, F7 from the K line, the hydrogen lines, and the metallic lines, respectively, is proposed. The present estimates of the mass of the third body yield a minimum value of one solar mass.
