A study of millimeter-wave atmospheric attenuation under cloudy weather with the inversion method.
Abstract
This paper describes a study of the Earth's atmospheric attenuation at millimeter wave radiation from radio sources and the correction for it under cloudy weather with the inversion method. Through the inversion of the liquid water content density in clouds from the microwave remote sensing of atmospheric thermal radiation, and ground-based observations of clouds combined with atmospheric stratification models, the authors make a numerical computation of total atmospheric attenuation at millimeter wavelengths on cloudy days.
