Ultraviolet absorption cross-sections of photoactive species of stratospheric interest. Part 1: The halocarbons
Abstract
Ultraviolet absorption cross section measurements of halogenated compounds of methane and ethane are carried out. Tables of values as function of temperature or of wavelength at 210 and 295K are presented for chloro and chlorofluoro methanes, ethanes and ethylenes and for brominated compounds. The parameters of the polynomial expression of the cross section as function of wavelength are given. The error budget of uncertainties for the optical path, pressure, impurities in the sample and absorbance is proposed.
