Lasers based on rare earth scandium garnets with chromium
Abstract
The emission characteristics of solid state lasers based on rare earth scandium garnets doped by chromium and neodymium ions are examined with reference to experimental data. In particular, attention is given to free running and Q-switched modes; self-Q-switched operation based on distributed phototropic centers; and lasers with polarized output and second harmonic generation. A method for calculating the reflection coefficient of a polarized-output resonator mirror is described.
