Magnetic moments of quadrupole states of even tin isotopes
Abstract
Magnetic dipole moments mu(2(sub i,sup +)) of the 2(sub 1,2,sup +)-states of even-even isotopes Sn-112 to 124 are studied in the framework of the quasiparticle-phonon nuclear model. The mixing of one- and two-phonon components is taken into account in the model wave function of excited states. To describe the influence of the magnetic polarization on mu(2(sub i,sup +)), we include the high-lying (E(sub x) approximately 7-10 MeV) 1(sup +)-states which have large B(M1)-values (M1-resonance) into the two-phonon part of the wave function. Magnetic polarization is rather important for the description of the magnetic moments of the first 2(sup +)-states. Its influence on the mu(2(sub 2,sup +)) is weak. The theoretical results are in qualitative agreement with experimental data on mu(2(sub 1,sup +)) from one isotope to other.
