Multijunction grill response to ponderomotive effects as plasma periphery
Abstract
A nonlinear coupling code that accounts for ponderomotive force effects at the plasma periphery is developed for a multijunction grill. By increasing the radio frequency power density, the power reflection coefficient remains rather low for the frequency of 4.6 GHz at the expense of the deterioration of the power distribution among subsidiary waveguides. The consequent danger of overloading individual waveguides is expected to be still greater for lower frequencies.
