A multi-pulse fuel-time-constrained relocation scheme for geostationary satellites
Abstract
A multi-pulse scheme for the fast relocation of geostationary satellites is presented. The scheme takes into account all the relevant satellite propulsion and attitude control subsystem's constraints, the orbital constraints, and the limitations on satellite relocation time and propellant expenditure. The scheme has been developed into software which is capable of performing preliminary planning analyses, synthesizing accurate trajectories and maneuver requirements, and correcting the effects of system errors. The procedure is illustrated by its application to a 130 deg relocation of an Intelsat VI satellite.
