Control design of an antenna pointing control system with large on-board reflectors
Abstract
This paper describes design considerations for the antenna pointing control system in Engineering Test Satellite-VI. The satellite flexible structures including a 3.5-m main reflector, a subreflector with an antenna pointing mechanism, and large solar paddles were modeled mathematically. The interactions between the satellite main body and antenna reflectors were estimated, and the structural model for application to control design was modified based on the results. By analyzing the sensitivities of the control system parameters, it was clarified that the gain change of the control loop must be increased by about 3.6 dB taking the structural parameter variations into consideration.
