Current collection in ionospheric conditions in the presence of neutrals
Abstract
Experiments described in this work study current collection by a high voltage anode in ionosphere-like plasmas in the presence of low pressure neutrals and weak magnetic fields in large vacuum chambers. Three distinct current collection regimes are identified and the behavior of their limiting boundaries is studied as a function of neutral and plasma densities.
