Invertible accelerometer mounting table prototype
Abstract
This paper describes the mechanical and electrical design of an invertible accelerometer mounting adapter that will be launched on the CMDS/UAH Joust sounding rocket. This adapter has the ability to rotate the mounted accelerometer back and forth 180 degrees. This allows the inherent accelerometer bias error to manifest during data sampling. Ordinary accelerometer packages in prior sounding rockets did not account for inherent accelerometer bias error. Five design constraints are outlined within the paper.
