Fractal structures and the angular correlation function of galaxies
Abstract
The comparison between the observational angular two point correlation function, determined from the CfAII catalogue of galaxies, and the expectations from a cell-fractal model with an upper cut-off Rco gives for this parameter a value ∼ 32 h-1 Mpc ( H0 = 100 km/s/Mpc). Then from the angular data we find that the large-scale structure is composed of fractal cells about 60 - 70 Mpc in size, randomly distributed in space.
