An approximate kinetic equation and transfer equations for a moderately dense gas of hard-core molecules
Abstract
Based on an analysis of a hierarchy of BBGKY equations, an approximate kinetic equation is obtained which generalizes the Enskog equation to the case of molecules whose interaction potential consistis of a hard sphere potential sum. Transfer equations are obtained, as are expressions for momentum end energy flows. The equilibrium pressure equation resulting from the solution of the kinetic equation coincides with the corresponding expression in equilibrium statistical mechanics.
