Domain formation at first-order diamagnetic phase transitions
Abstract
Magnetic domain formation in normal metals under strong magnetic fields is considered as a result of a first-order diamagnetic phase transition. The shape, width and energy of the domain wall are calculated for the first time in this case. The properties of such domains are studied in the vicinity of the tricritical point.
