A bineutron model of cold fusion in metal
Abstract
The characteristic features of cold fusion reactions have been observed not only during the decomposition of deuterium-containing compounds and heavy water electrolysis but also during the implantation of heavy deuterium ions into deuterium-containing crystals and during the reduction of metals. Here, a mechanism of cold fusion is proposed which is based on the formation of quasi-bistable bineutrons in deuterium-containing metals. It is shown that the model proposed here makes it possible to explain qualitativly all the available results of cold fusion experiments from a unified standpoint.
