A new type of magnetism - Aromagnetism
Abstract
A fundamentally new type of permanent magnetism has been observed in an entire class of aromatic organic substances existing in the form of a suspension of fine crystal particles in a liquid (e.g., water). The permanent magnetic moment is proportional to the volume of the crystal particles. Results of the microphotography of these substances are discussed.
