A search for cool carbon stars. IV. Serpens-Aquila-Scutum
Abstract
A search for cool carbon stars has been consecutively made using the 4-deg prism spectra of the Kiso 105-cm Schmidt telescope. The surveyed area in this paper is the 240 square-degree area in the Serpens-Aquila-Scutum region. The celestial position, V magnitude, and the finding chart of 60 cool carbon stars derived from V-band plates are presented. Among the detected objects, 28 stars are not listed in Stephenson's (1973, 1985) general catalog of carbon stars. The variability and the distribution of cool carbon stars are briefly discussed.
