Are the dwarf galaxy global characteristics influenced by the environment ?
Abstract
The optical and H I characteristics of low-surface-brightness gas-rich dwarf galaxies in galaxy clusters, in groups, and in the field are compared. It is concluded that the environment does not significantly affect such mean parameters as the absolute magnitude, the linear diameter, the apparent axis ratio, and the H I line profile width. Particular attention is given to the characteristics of irregular Magellanic dwarf galaxies.
