Forces acting on a wedge during the diffraction of a shock wave generated by a strong explosion
Abstract
The problem of the nonsymmetric diffraction of a shock wave generated by a strong (no counterpressure) plane explosion is investigated analytically. Gas flow in the case of regular interaction is calculated using MacCormack's scheme with reflected shock isolation. The results obtained are used to investigate the forces acting on the surface of a wedge in terms of the mean pressure.
