Composite and multipass nonlinear-optical frequency converters
Abstract
The paper examines a class of composite and multipass nonlinear-optical frequency converters characterized by the 'wide-angle' property, i.e., a reduced criticality with respect to the divergence of the converted radiation. Key issues in the development of such converters (based on three-wave processes in crystals) are described, and a method of noise suppression in composite parametric amplifiers based on different types of crystals is presented.
