The Interaction of Cometary Plasma with Interplanetary Medium - a Post-Halley View
Abstract
A review of the post-Halley-era developments of cometary plasma physics is presented. Various cometary plasma boundaries are outlined. Displacement of features in cometary plasma tails, obtained from a sequence of photographs, is used to infer plasma motions with tailward velocities in the range of about 20 to 250 km/s.
