An Infrared Companion to Cygnus X-3
Abstract
IR images of the Cyg X-3 field show a heavily reddened star only 5 arcsec SE of Cyg X-3. The presence of this previously unrecognized star, which has approximately half the 2.2 micron flux of Cyg X-3, could have affected much of the historical aperture photometry of this object.
