Some aspects of collision-induced transitions in spectral line shape experiments
Abstract
I will briefly review some experiments on collision-induced electronic transitions in neutral-neutral atomic collisions, review the method of interpretation of broadened spectra, and then introduce our latest experimental results on collision-assisted laser ionization of metallic vapors. I will show that the ionization includes some closely connected processes, such as the collision-assisted two-photon transition in the energy transfer process after a weak laser illumination.
