Theoretical modeling of chemical generators of singlet oxygen for the oxygen-iodine laser
Abstract
A theoretical model for a singlet oxygen generator based on the hydrogen peroxide chlorination reaction is presented which uses empirical coefficients of mass transfer in the gas and liquid phases. The model provides a way to describe singlet oxygen generators of various types with a complex irregular interface structure in those cases where the diffusion model of mass transfer is inapplicable. The fundamental criteria and parameters required for the general analysis of singlet oxygen generators are formulated, and calculations are presented for specific singlet oxygen generation schemes.
