Dissipation of nitric oxide injected into the free stratosphere
Abstract
Light flux in the 0.6-0.9 micron range and ozone concentration were measured from a balloonborne platform during the injection of nitric oxide into the free stratosphere. It is found that the NO + O3 reaction zone was concentrated at the boundary of the injected cloud. The spreading rate of the cloud boundaries is estimated.
