A microstrip antenna design for mobile Locstar/Geostar terminals
Abstract
Several models have been developed of land mobile antennas for covering all satellite elevations by switching between two subcoverages. The required separation between Rx and Tx bands are obtained using thick substrates with a simple circuit for input matching and two thinner antennas, one for each band, without any feeding network. The design criteria and their limits of application are presented, and the results of first experiments of actual antennas based on the models are briefly discussed.
