Generation kinetics of an excimer laser with an unstable telescoping resonator and polarized output
Abstract
Results of experimental and theoretical studies aimed at optimizing the operation of the unstable resonator of an electric-discharge XeCl laser are reported. A theoretical model is developed which provides a qualitatively correct description of the energy and time characteristics of the emission generated by an XeCl electric-discharge laser with a telescoping unstable resonator and polarized output. It is expected that an improved model of the active medium will allow the quantitative analysis of the emission characteristics of such lasers.
