Effect of the electrode system on the uniformity of the gas discharge of a TEA CO2 laser
Abstract
The effect of nonuniformities of the distribution of the electric field and the initial electrons on the uniformity of the self-sustained discharge of a TEA CO2 laser is assessed theoretically and experimentally. The experimental optimization of the electrode system is examined, and accuracy requirements on the electrode-system installation in the discharge chamber are evaluated. Results are presented for various configurations of typical UV preionization sources.
