A study of dynamic solitons in randomly inhomogeneous and fluctuating media
Abstract
The radiation generated by dynamic solitons described by the Korteweg-de Vries equation and the nonlinear Schroedinger equation with randomly inhomogeneous and fluctuating parameters is investigated analytically. For a perturbation of arbitrary form, the mean spectral power density is determined, and some specific examples of physical importance are examined. It is shown that soliton radiation is characterized by an essentially nonmonotonic dependence of the mean spectral power density on the wave number.
