Effect of atmospheric turbulence on the accuracy characteristics of a laser velocity-vector meter
Abstract
Attention is given to a laser velocity-vector meter which includes two heterodyne receivers, making possible the simultaneous measurement of the radial and tangential components of the velocity of a moving object. An assessment is made of the distorting effect of the atmosphere on the measurement of the tangential component. A condition is derived which makes it possible to measure the total velocity vector of a moving vector on almost any atmospheric path.
