The role of the medical physicist in radiation protection in hospitals
Abstract
The role of the medical physicist is vital if ionising radiation is to be used safely in hospitals. Involvement in the fields of radiotherapy, nuclear medicine, diagnostic radiology, environmental radioactivity, dosimetry and personal monitoring is described.
