Round robin tests of Tc and Ic on YBa2Cu3O(x)
Abstract
Methods for measuring the critical properties such as critical temperature and critical current were investigated and studied by round robin tests. The investigation was carried out in five steps: (1) decision on the specifications of common samples and measuring methods; (2) preparation and characterization of common samples; (3) distribution of samples to ten member research organizations; (4) experimental measurement at the respective research organizations; and (5) analysis of measurement results. The measurement of critical temperature and critical current were made mainly by the four-probe methods and partially by the magnetization method. The results were found to disperse, depending on the measurement methods and definitions of Tc and Ic.
