A study of the superconducting phase alpha(t)-(BEDF-TTF)2I3 and its formation
Abstract
A study is made of the EPR and polarized reflection spectra in the 25,000-400/cm region of superconducting alpha(t)-(BEDT-TTF)2I3 crystals (Tc = 7 K). The properties of this phase are found to be similar to those of its beta modification (Tc = 1.5 K), with the exception of EPR line splitting observed below 50 K. The splitting is attributed to the presence of twins in the alpha(t) crystals which are thought to stabilize the state with Tc = 7 K.
