A two-band model of a high-Tc superconductor
Abstract
A model is presented which describes a superconductor with overlapping conduction bands in the case where interband scattering processes are the principal factor responsible for the transition to superconductivity. The model allows for both electron-phonon attraction and Coulomb repulsion of electrons of different bands on the critical temperature. It is shown that, when Coulomb interaction dominates, the critical temperature may significantly exceed that in the case of electron-phonon interaction.
