Formation of a focused beam of acoustic waves by a planar system of transducers
Abstract
The excitation of three-dimensional acoustic waves in a fluid by a transducer located at the interface between a ferroelectric crystal and the fluid is investigated theoretically. Some phased transducer systems are described which make it possible to form a linearly focused beam of acoustic waves in a fluid volume. The structure of the focal regions of such systems at the water-lithium niobate interface is calculated.
