Global photometric observations of 30 HII regions in the Small Magellanic Cloud.
Abstract
Integrated photoelectric measurements of the equivalent width W_Hβ_, the [O III]/Hβ ratio and the Hβ emission line flux were obtained for 30 H II regions in the SMC by a photometric system composed of three interference filters: Hβ narrow, with {DELTA}λ = 30 A, Hβ wide, with {DELTA}λ = 150 A and [O III] centered at 5000 A, with {DELTA}λ = 80 A. The photometric system was calibrated and checked through the observation of spectrophotometric standard stars and well studied planetary nebulae. The [O III]/Hβ ratios and the Hβ fluxes are compared with previous observations.
