SNAP-DYN: Concepts for multikilowatt space power applications
Abstract
The SNAP-DYN power system was reviewed to characterize the system size, mass, and efficiency in the 10 to 50 kWe power range. All of the major component technologies for this system concept, including deployment, were developed or are under development for the Space Station. The DIPS technology is directly applicable to the concept in the areas of power system reliability and survivability. The SNAP-DYN concept is a truly state-of-the-art system for use in future military and civilian space power programs.
