Real time photographic recording for interference-optical flow measurements
Abstract
A real-time photographic recording method was developed and analyzed, and an image evaluation system was further developed. An apparatus for real-time photographic recording with a maximum recording frequency of 50 Hz was built. Three computer programs which fulfill several measuring requirements were developed for the photographic recording. The method complements the high speed film camera and is even superior if the low recording frequency is not a problem. Coupling software was developed for the image processor IP512 allowing it to work together on the PDP11/34 and the MicroVAX-2. A number of programs allows the further evaluation of the obtained interferograms, with emphasis on user friendliness. A test series on a free jet demonstrated the quality of the system.
