A test of the general relativity by means of SLR data.
Abstract
The authors describe how to handle the problem of satellite laser ranging in the geocentric system in the context of general relativity. They consider the reduction of the satellite laser ranging data to determine Earth rotation parameters. For that analysis, they have compared the root-mean-square residuals from the reductions using the general relativistic framework and the classical theory framework. From the comparison, it is concluded that the effects of general relativity have been detected by the laser ranging to the Lageos satellite.
