Are there causal vacuum solutions with the symmetries of the Goedel universe in higherderivative gravity
Abstract
A globally causal vacuum solution with the symmetries of the Godel universe is obtained in the framework of higher derivative gravity. This very peculiar and rare result has no similar one in the standard general relativity. The ReboucasTiomno universe, i.e., the unique completely causal Goedeltype solution of Einstein's field equations with the algebraic Segre characteristics ((1,11)) is shown to be a special case of our solution. It is also shown that one model is an imbedding of the 3D antide Litter universe in 4D spacetime.
